News to Share...
As announced at Mass September 17-18, I have recently been informed that I will be transferred to Annunciation Parish in Newington. The start date is October 19.
The other news announced also at that time is that there is simply not a priest to replace me but the parish will not be closed. The Mass schedule, however, will have to be changed to one Mass on Sundays and that will be at 9:00 a.m. starting Sunday, October 23. Weekday Masses will end October 13.
Scheduled Mass intentions will be satisfied at other times and dates but you are welcome to take back the intention and the stipend will be returned. Just call the office.
Deacon Marty O’Connor, long-time resident and deacon in and around New Haven will be appointed as the administrator of the parish on October 19, and he will be discussing the future plan for Saints Aedan and Brendan which has not yet been decided, except that it will not close. The future plan will be made with your input.
Please pray for the discernment process as you will decide the future and pray for the other parishes and priests going through similar changes. On a personal note, I would like to thank those of you who have been so kind and welcoming over the past five years, you have made this assignment enjoyable. Let us pray for one another.
Sincerely,
Fr. Morgewicz
