Our Parishes offer many religious, educational, stewardship and fun opportunities for parishioners of all ages.  See below for a complete list.

  • EDUCATION

    • RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM - Held Tuesday afternoons from September through May for K - 6 children not attending Catholic school (called CCD or PSR in some parishes); Classes for 6-Confirmation are held on Sundays.
    • CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD - Held during Mass for young children.  Conducted September through May to prepare children for Mass.
    • VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL CAMP - One-week summer camp for kids through grade 8
    • RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) - Preparation and baptism for adults who wish to join the Catholic faith
    • ST. AEDAN - ST. BRENDAN SCHOOL - Serving grades pre-K through 8.  Volunteers always needed to assist with activities, classroom work and fundraising.
  • PARISH ADMINISTRATION

    • PASTORAL COUNCIL - Leadership of the Parish.  Monthly meetings open to parishioners.  
    • FINANCE COMMITTEE - Advisory group for financial matters
    • PUBLICITY - Promoting the works of the Church, including the website
  • LITURGY & SPIRITUALITY

    • MUSIC
      • PARISH CHOIR - Providing choral music for liturgical celebrations
      • CANTORS - Needed at all Masses to lead parishioners in song
      • INSTRUMENTALISTS - Adding to the richness and vibrancy of musical arrangements at Mass
    • LITURGICAL ART & ENVIRONMENT GROUP (ALTAR GUILD) - Our "interior decorators" of the Church, assisting with flowers, altar preparation, seasonal decorating and Church cleaning
    • EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION - Commissioned parishioners who minister the Body and Blood of Christ
    • LECTORS - For those with strong public speaking skills interested in proclaiming the Word of God during Mass
    • USHERS & GREETERS - Welcoming and assisting Parishioners during Mass with seating, collections and other needs
    • PRAYER LINE - Parishioners committed in prayer to those in need and/or in need themselves of prayers. To sign up to to request a prayer, please go to our Prayer Line page.
    • SEWING GUILD - Creating and maintaining alter linens, vestments, robes and parayer shawls
    • VOCATIONAL RESOURCE COMMITTEE - For parishioners with a calling for the priesthood, permanent diaconate, religious life and consecrated stewardship
  • COMMUNITY

    SOCIAL COMMITTEE - Planners of Parish dinners, after-Mass refreshments, breakfast with Santa and more
  • KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

    Catholic men committed to making their community a better place, in the city that founded the Knights almost 130 years ago.

  • BUILDING & GROUNDS

    • BUILDINGS COMMITTEE - Plans and conducts building maintenance
    • GROUNDS COMMITTEE - Oversees grounds maintenance 
  • SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE

    The Social Action Committee creates opportunities for service outside of the Parishes.  Missions include:

    • COLUMBUS HOUSE - Preparing and serving meals monthly at one of New Haven's largest homeless shelters
    • PRO-LIFE - Supporting nationwide efforts in support of this basic tenant of the faith
    • CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE - Providing gifts to needy elderly through Christmas tree "gift wish tags"
    • FOOD COLLECTION - Benefiting various organizations through monthly collections
